My B.A. is BS here.

Went by the University of Amsterdam to inquire into matriculating in the teacher certification program this September.

Found out that I first have to take a year of intensive Dutch (18 hours of classtime and 22 hours of homework per week), then a year of English literature (because my American degrees can't be validated), and then and only then can I apply for the year-long teacher training program.

In other words, it would take me three years to have a grown up job in the Netherlands.

Yeah, I know lots of people who go to school for nine years.

They're called doctors.
