Icelandic landscape

Everyone told me that Iceland looks like the surface of the moon.

But it really looks like Earth would a few years after a nuclear fallout: black rock covered by green peach fuzz moss.

The water is the same pale blue that children use when they paint or color water.

Ive never seen a true pale blue ocean. Its always cerulean or chambourd or aqua or even muddy brown. But never baby blue or powder blue.

Moira and I stopped on the way home from the grocery store to throw lava rocks at the surface.

We tried to skip them, but we were too high up, so they just thunked down.
