I bought an amazing bottle of white wine the other night for about three dollars American (translation for ye Canadians: that's like a week's pay for you guys).
They also sell vino in one-liter juice boxes, complete with straw. Red, white, and blush are the only varieties, but there are shelves upon shelves of brands.
I guess you have to have something on hand to wash down all that meat.
Uruguayans consume more meat per person than residents of any other South American country. In between meals, they snack on meat, meat, meat.
That whole hand, foot, and mouth scandal in Uruguay last year didn't scare anyone. They're willing to die for their meat.
