"what comes down always piles up"
Amsterdam had six inches of snow over the past two days (I think I'm converting the centimeters properly), which is a 25-year record. It's laughable compared to New England winters, but a real bitch to bike through, especially because the city has never invested in snowplows, let alone salt. My chain froze up overnight, so it took me ten minutes to unlock my bike this morning.
But at least it's light outside when I wake up now. I hate the blast of cold in the dark while I fumble with my bike lights and keys. At least now I can see the PLAY button on my CD player in my coat pocket.
