Graduation went off without a hitch, almost: we did have one no-show.
It's customary here to have a professional photographer take pictures of the children at the end with their teacher. Then the parents order prints from the studio.
Virtually all of the kids opted to have their photos taken with me, which was tremendously flattering, as they only got one shot.
A few mothers pulled me aside to thank me for the impact I've made on their child, saying they've never seen them so excited about school before.
Yeah, that's right: I'm the cool teacher.
