Westfield and Northampton, MA

Drove two and a half hours to western Massachusetts yesterday for a doctor's appointment.

I used to live in a small mill town there when I was in college (I've kept the same general practicioner; ergo, the reason for the trip).

It was strange driving through there, where I can tell a story about every street, every storefront, every mailbox and pole.

It was strange being back in that college town, with all its pseudo-intellectuals drinking chai and eating gourmet tofu paid for on their parents' credit cards while discussing poverty in the third world.

At the end of the day I was glad to leave the snowy roads and dispositions.
