garbage collection
Low point of my trip:
Recognizing the person picking through the trash in my neighborhood as being the father of one of my students.
-
Trash and recycleables are collected by people with horse-driven carriages who sell each by the kilo to the government.
We don't have garbage cans; rather, outside of each house is a black wire basket upright on a stick. Insert refuse, someone will eventually remove it and sell it to make a living.
